What beach in Maui is good for beginner bodysurfing?zyllee asked:
My hubby and I will be going to Maui in the near future, staying at the Honua Kai Resort & Spa, and we want to try bodysurfing (boogie boarding). We are not super strong swimmers and are worried a bit if we will be ok (we’ve only seen the ocean once when we were both kids). Is there a good beach for beginners? |

Kamaole Beach 1 in Kehei is a good place. The beaches in southwest Maui tend to be flatter and wider than those in the Kaanapali area. That particular beach has a lifeguard, hence my suggestion.

The beach, right in front of the Honua Kai, is a fantastic beach for swimming and body surfing. The Ka'anapali beach is about 3 miles long and you can swim/body surf just about anywhere on the beach. It is the #1 beach in Maui!
