Best Coffee in Maui?Quick – name the ONLY state of the United States that grows and produces coffee? Hawaii of course. When we visit Maui we drink Maui/Hawaiian coffee. So which coffee-houses on Maui are the best? Here’s the winners:
Aina at the Honua Kai Resort & SpaYou would expect nothing less – Maui’s premier 5-star resort, the Honua Kai Resort & Spa, is going to have the #1 coffee house on Maui. For all the guests and owners at the Honua Kai this is a great way to support your 1st class resort and keep Aina busy and healthy. Aina is about to start room service and you won’t even have to put on shorts and an Aloha shirt to enjoy their fine coffee products and pastries. If you’re like me our first morning in Maui has my stomach 4 hours ahead of Maui time. So at 7 am Maui time my stomach tells me its 11 am back in St. Louis and I’m ready for espresso and a latte and a cappuccino all rolled up into one huge coffee and head to Aina to wake up. Of course you can’t drink coffee without a huge blueberry muffin and I’m ready to sit out in the open air lobby of the Honua Kai and enjoy our first morning on Maui. Funny thing is every morning at the Honua Kai starts out that way… Hours of Operation 7:0oAM to 9:00PM Starbucks![]() Starbucks in Lahaina Cannery Mal Who can argue with Starbucks being the #1 coffee-house? Limiting your choicesThe first step in booking a vacation rental is, of course, to find a reliable source with a surfeit of choices. But don’t put all your eggs in one basket. You’ll save more time if you use several rental resources either online or offline. As much as possible, collect as many rental candidates as you can to help you narrow down on the best choices. Limiting yourself with the choices can easily make for a risky travel, especially if you end up with a shady property owner. Not inspecting the photos carefullyEach vacation rental you pick as potential choices should be equipped with plenty of photographs. Furthermore, the photos should showcase some of the most important areas of the house: living room, bathroom, bedrooms, front/backyard and kitchen. You should keep your eyes open for potential red flags that are usually hidden in the photos. For instance, undrawn curtains portend a potential unsightly backdrop, which the owner is trying to hide. You should also inspect the photos for similarity. Many sham rental listings use photos that may seem to look related but are actually taken from different properties. Be careful of this trap as well as those retouched photos. Skipping the rental agreementApart from confirming the specifics of the rental, i.e. number of beds and baths, square footage, location, proximity to important areas, etc., you should also double-check the rental agreement. It’s crucial to know just how you can use the house and what things and situations can make you liable for damages, for instance. Be sure to ask a lot of important questions to the owner, and base his or her credibility on the length of the reply. Too long a reply is a potential warning sign. Choosing a wrong payment methodThe oft-advised payment method when booking a vacation rental is through credit card. Don’t agree on money transfers or bank-to-bank transactions. Credit card payment is more reliable and less risky because it is traceable and offers a considerable level of protection both for your identity and your transaction. We recommend using PayPal whenever possible – it allows renters the ability to finance their vacation and the landlord instant access to the rent money. Renting from me is hassle free and inexpensive!Note: We are now renting our 1 bedroom Our villa is a 1-bedroom ocean view condo and sleeps 4. I can assure you no one can beat our discounted prices – no one!
Product Description Here’s what snorkeling on Maui’s Napili and Kapalua Bays looks like. The coral reef, right in front of the Honua Kai, looks just the same! Why am I the Best Value Rental Source?First, please click here to compare my rates to all the big rental agencies which handle renting Honua Kai villas – it’s an eye-opener! Let me recap the results: There are many things to consider when doing such a comparison and here are the things I accounted for:
I just finished the comparison today, March 21, 2010 and there it is:
* these sources had no partial ocean views available As an owner at the Honua Kai my rates partially cover my mortgage, maintenance fees, and reserves needed to do deep cleaning twice a year and reserves for replacement of furniture, fixtures, and equipment on a timely basis and to cover expenses incurred while renting my villa. So the question is why the HUGE difference in price? Profit of those companies/agencies is the answer of course. But to be fair, there is more. Some/all of the above companies get into:
I don’t do any of the above. Let’s go further and analyze the terms and conditions of rentals assuming the reservation is made and taken:
* the $131 cost is for trip insurance on $1,641, which is my rental fee. My goal is to offer you the least expensive rent which is not full of thousands of dollars of overhead covering financing options and insurance fees. As you see when you do it this way renting from me saves you at least 50% over going with the big rental companies. It’s much less expensive to rent from me, buy travel insurance, and save a lot of money – a lot. I want to deal with smart/educated customers and the more I can help you understand what’s going on the better I look! 3 Bedroom VillaSleeps 8, two in king size bed in master bedroom, two in king size bed in second bedroom, two in king size bed in third bedroom, and two in queen size sofa bed. The 3-bedroom villas at the Honua Kai are all fantastic and most are ocean front with huge, I mean huge, lanais with BBQs right on the lanai. If you calculate the cost per person a 3-bedroom might be something to look into. If you want the lowest possible rental prices use my owner discount code of 60001X and click here to get rates:
Stats: Suite area: 2,235 sq ft Lanai area: 560 sq ft
Great Website to Visit!I don’t know about you but every time we visit Maui we try to learn more about Hawaiian and Maui foods. Good news; there is a website dedicated to just that. You can’t spend all that money on airline tickets, lodging, rental cars, etc. and not get an authentic Maui meal – this website is a great resource for you. Check out “What’s Cooking Maui” and see for yourself – click here. From what I’ve read, these guys know what they are talking about – highly recommend them.
The flagship is Cafe O’Lei at the Dunes in Kahului, a convenient spot with beautiful views of the golf course and the West Maui Mountains beyond. It’s got a private banquet room for 180 people, a 100-seat dining room and plenty of outdoor venues. The husband-and-wife team of Michael and Dana Pastula will make you feel right at home. The chef-owner’ signature dishes include Manoa lettuce wraps, crab cakes, Bill Eby burgers, and onion soup en croute with gruyere cheese, “We make customer service our core value,” says Dana. “We know business people have a tight time schedule and we try hard to meet their needs during breakfast, lunch and dinner. We give the best service and there is plenty of parking.” The second biggest Cafe O’Lei location is upstairs at the Rainbow Mall in Kihei. It’s a fun place to go for lunch with air conditioning, and in the evenings it’s got a seafood bar, brick pizza oven and a sushi chef rolling out fresh delights. Cafe O’Lei Wailuku is where all of the lawyers, doctors and Wailuku businessmen hang out. The latest Cafe O’Lei is opened in August at the Waiehu Golf Course, and everyone knows golf and business go hand in hand. All food items cost under $9 and golf on the county course is only $5 for kamaaina. First place: Second place: Third place: Kids Club at the Honua KaiThe Kids (Keiki) Club, known officially as the Family Fun Club, is a great place for kids, ages 4 through 12,to spend a few hours or the day with other kids who are having just as much fun. |
