Kaba Keycode Lock:

Each of my renters gets a 6-digit random number when they get their Reservation Confirmation. I can generate this number one year in advance by a program located at the lock manufacturer’s website. This number only works from 4 PM on the day of check-in to 11 AM on the date of check-out and only on our Kaba lock.

To open the Kaba door lock simply punch in the 6-digit number and the door will open. Write this number down on a sheet of small paper and place it in your wallet/purse. You can easily reprogram the lock with your own 6-digit number and BOTH numbers will work during your stay.

Let’s actually do this now. Say your code number is 123456 then that’s what you punch in. If you mess up just keep punching numbers until the red light shines. You get 3 attempts before the lock goes into a time lock of 3 minutes and then you can try again.

You have a family code number that is easy to remember which is your birthday of 122565 (Dec 25, 1965) and wish to reprogram the lock. To do this first open the door and reprogram it while the door is open. Next type in the code number followed by the pound sign “#” and then your family code number:

123456#122565

And that’s it. You can reassign as many alternate numbers as you wish but only one is valid at a time.
