“The beach is a fantastic place, but even if you’re an avid scuba diver or snorkeler, you probably won’t see the diversity of marine life that you can see during a visit to the Maui Ocean Center,” says General Manager Kate Zolezzi.

With more than 60 exhibits housing thousands of marine animals, you don’t have to get wet to see what’s going on under the sea. The latest addition to this marine wonderland is its Coral Reefs exhibit, which tells the story of coral in Hawaii. The interactive exhibit features coral images, spawning footage, interactive models and a special 125,000-year-old coral skeleton. The expansive center also includes the Maui Ocean Center Store where visitors can take their experience home with plush animals, postcards and books; as well as the open-air Reef Cafe and the ocean-view Seascape Ma‘alaea.
